Our government parody mission
Our Government Parody Mission
At the Nova Scotia Bureau of Absurd Nova Scotia (NS BANS), our mission is simple: do less, spend less, and make sure no one mistakes us for a serious government. We are committed to balanced budgets—not because we’re good at math, but because there’s nothing left to balance once you cut everything fun.
We pledge to:
- Protect citizens from dangerous new ideas like bike lanes, roundabouts, and efficiency.
- Ensure every public service costs exactly one nickel more than we can afford, so we have an excuse to cancel it.
- Keep Nova Scotians safe from runaway progress by enforcing sensible limits, like “two potholes per street” and “no more than one functioning ferry at a time.”
- Champion fiscal responsibility, mostly by not doing anything that costs money.
We are here to parody governance, to highlight absurdity, and—most importantly—to remind you that if government sounds ridiculous, it probably is.

Our parody platform pokes fun at Nova Scotia policies
Originally created to highlight government actions with humor, our site satirizes policies and procedures, offering playful commentary on local governance and political antics. We aim to entertain while encouraging viewers to think critically about regional policies through satire.
